Vitamin B-1 (Thiamine)

Functions: 
  • Facilitate growth and maintenance of nerve and muscle tissue
  • Contributes body release energy from carbohydrates
  • Promotes normal appetite

Deficiency


  • Beriberi: fatigue, weakness, nerve disorders, mental confusion, apathy, heart irregularity and failure, swelling
Recommended Requirement 
  • 1.2 mg
  • Oral doses of 500 mg/d or less are considered as safe. But don't take without your doctors prescription.
  • High intake are rapidly excreted by kidneys. Toxicity not known.
